The Tyrol Cow Festival – Celebrating With 100,000 Cows!
Within the entire Province of Tirol some 100,000 cattle spend their summer — approximately 120 days — on the lush green, high Alpine pasturelands.
From September to early October the herds are brought down from the high Alpine pastures. The cattle wear elaborate headdresses for the also called cattle drive, and the clanging of cow bells accompanies brass bands. In Tirol this day is deeply rooted in tradition. A highlight not to be missed – Come and celebrate with us!
